Masala Vadai – Vegan


Channa Dal – 1 cup

Urad Dal – 1 tbsp

Green chillies – to taste

Salt – To taste

Onion – 1, cut to thin strips

Curry Leaves – a sprig

Coriander Leaves – 1/2 cup, finely chopped

Sonf  (perunjeeragam/Fennel Seeds) – 1 1/2 tbsp

Soak Channa & Urad Dal in water for 2 hours. Then drain the water & keep aside.

In a food processor, grind the Green chillies finely & then, add the dals, keeping aside a handful.

Once ground to a coarse paste, add salt & mix.

Now, add the rest of unground Dal, Onion, Curry & Coriander Leaves.

Finally, mix Fennel seeds & fry in hot oil.

Serve Hot.
